Minutes of 8 October, 2011 Meeting at 2:00 PM

Forty (40) members attended the October meeting with 3 visitors for a total of 43 attendees.

On a motion by Doyle Dykes, the membership approved the August 13, 2011 Meeting Minutes as

published in the Newsletter and by e-mail.

On a motion by Dick Lethe, the membership approved the Treasurer’s Report for September and the year

end Treasurer’s report.

President Randolph recognized the guests that were present.

Dick Lethe introduced Ray Carrio, a chapter member, who was our speaker. Mr. Carrio educated the

members about Honor Flights for WWII veterans to visit the WWII Memorial in Washington DC.

Presentation

President Randolph presented an award from EEO/Federal Women’s Program for Color Guard duty at

the 2011 Outstanding Women’s Celebration to Richard Sanchez. Richard asked all Color Guard members

to stand. Color Guard members participating in the event were Dick Lethe, Ed Wuermser, Billy Joe

Denton, Bert Yuttal, and Richard Sanchez.

Announcements:

1. The Hamburger Cook Out will be October 19, please come and help.

2. Wheelchair repair every Wednesday

3. KWVA Annual Meeting in Quincy. MA on October 28-31.

4. The Dallas Veterans Day Parade will take place on November 11. Our chapter hopes to have two

trailers with hay bales for seating.

New Business:

1 President Randolph notified members about a "Meet the New Director" of the North Texas VA

System will be held in the Dallas VA Hospital on October 17 from 10:30 am until 3:30 pm.

2 President Randolph announced the Regional Veterans Day Program to be held on November 8 from

9:30 am until 1:30 pm at the Bonham High School Warrior Stadium.

3 The Greater Dallas Veterans Council (GDVC) will hold its annual Honoree of the Year (HOTY)

luncheon on October 16 in the Spinal Care Gym at the Dallas VA Hospital. This year’s Honoree of

the Year is our President, J. D. Randolph. Congratulations, JD.

4 The KWVA Department of Texas will hold its annual meeting in Killeen.

50/50 Raffle: Ski Wojciechowski conducted the 50/50 Drawing which yielded $46.50. The winner donated his $46.50

winnings to the chapter.

For the Good of the Chapter:

Dick Lethe reported that the Tell America program has been active.

Doyle Dykes reminded the members that Debbie Reynolds would have 3 performances at the downtown theater in

Garland starting at 6:00 p.m. on November 11.

The members recited our Chapter Motto.

Benediction: was given by Dick Bové.

It was moved that we adjourn – Motion passed.
